Situated
near the eastern entrance to the Souk, Riad Herougui
is well placed for guests to enjoy the mysteries of
Marrakech to include Ben Youssef Medersa, the Marrakech
Museum and the Place Ben Salah, to name a few.
The current owner of Riad Herougui is a well-known
Parisian interior-decorator. It has been meticulously
restored, using traditional techniques and crafts,
into a sumptuous residence.
Columned arches, ornate balustrades and galleries
over look the magnificent central courtyard/garden
and pool. The courtyard, paved with pale pink floor
tiles (beijmats) from Meknes and lined with wall friezes
in ceramic tiles (zelliges), is planted with palm-trees
and yuccas. In the evening, the light from cast iron
Mosque lanterns and the gentle trickle of water from
the fountain create an ambience of peace and tranquillity
within this bustling Metropolis.

The eastern terrace is partially covered by a large
bedouin awning under which plush sofas and cushions
